Richard Kadrey (born August 27, 1957) is an American novelist, freelance writer, and photographer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his Sandman Slim supernatural noir series, which was included in Amazon’s “100 Science Fiction & Fantasy Books to Read in a Lifetime,” and is currently in development as a feature film.

Kadrey's other notable works include King Bullet, The Grand Dark, Butcher Bird, and The Dead Take the A Train (co-authored with Cassandra Khaw). His contributions extend to film and comics, including work on Heavy Metal, Lucifer, and Hellblazer. In addition to writing, Richard Kadrey performs music with his band, A Demon in Fun City.

Kadrey's work has been recognized and nominated for several awards, including the Locus and BSFA awards. His recent books include The Secrets of Insects (August 2023), The Dead Take the A Train (September 2023), and The Pale House Devil (September 2023).
