Richard Allen Lupoff was an American science-fiction and mystery author, known for his humor, satire, nonfiction, and reviews. Since embarking on his writing career, Lupoff penned two dozen novels and over 40 short stories. He gained prominence as an expert on the writing of Edgar Rice Burroughs and was equally passionate about the works of H. P. Lovecraft.
Lupoff's editorial talents shone through his work on science-fantasy anthologies, and he co-edited the non-fiction anthology All in Color For a Dime with Don Thompson. This anthology is noteworthy for being one of the first volumes dedicated to comic book criticism, along with its sequel, The Comic-Book Book. His literary contributions and expertise in genre fiction left an indelible mark on the fields of science fiction and mystery literature.
