Rebecca Ross is the #1 New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of fantasy books for teens and adults. She has written multiple highly acclaimed duologies, including Letters of Enchantment, Elements of Cadence, and The Queen's Rising as well as two standalone novels: Dreams Lie Beneath and Sisters of Sword & Song. When not writing, she can be found in her garden planting wildflowers and story ideas. She resides in Northeast Georgia with her husband and her dog.
Rebecca grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was an avid reader with a longing to find a portal to Narnia. She attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a degree in English. Her varied career includes stints at a Colorado dude ranch, as a school librarian, and as a live-time captionist for a college. At the end of 2014, she was struck by the notion of becoming a seventy-year-old with regret over not pursuing her love for writing. This epiphany drove her to start writing a novel, carving out time whenever possible.
On a cold January night in 2015, she began writing The Queen's Rising after a vivid image of a young woman in a sun-drenched library with a stern but handsome young man came to her. Within 48 days, the first draft was completed, and this story would significantly change her life. Rebecca is now a New York Times bestselling author with works such as Divine Rivals, The Queen's Resistance, and A River Enchanted. Her books have been translated into thirteen languages and have received starred trade reviews.
Known for her love of coffee, vintage typewriters, old postage stamps, and hand-lettering, she lives with her husband and a frisbee-addicted Australian Shepherd in the Appalachian foothills. She also maintains an active presence on Instagram, where she engages with her readers.
