Rand Miller is a renowned American game designer and author, born on January 17, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Cyan Worlds (originally Cyan) alongside his brother, Robyn Miller.
The Miller brothers became famous through their groundbreaking computer game Myst, which was released in 1993 and held the title of the all-time best-selling computer game until it was surpassed by The Sims nearly a decade later. Rand played a significant role in the creation of the game's sequel, Riven, and reprised his role as the protagonist Atrus in Myst III: Exile, realMyst, Uru, Myst IV: Revelation, and Myst V: End of Ages.
In addition to video games, Rand co-authored several Myst novels, including The Book of Atrus, The Book of Ti'ana, and The Book of D'ni.
