Raina Telgemeier is an acclaimed American cartoonist known for her best-selling graphic memoirs and novels. Born on May 26, 1977, she has made a significant impact with works such as the autobiographical webcomic Smile, published as a full-color middle-grade graphic novel in February 2010. Her follow-up works include Sisters and the fictional graphic novel Drama, all of which have been featured on The New York Times Best Seller lists. Her other well-known creations include Ghosts and Guts, in addition to adapting and illustrating the first four Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels by Ann M. Martin.
Raina has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the prestigious Eisner Award. Her works are celebrated for their heartfelt and genuine portrayal of her childhood experiences. Besides her solo creations, she is also the co-creator of The Cartoonists Club along with Scott McCloud.
