Pete Fromm (born September 29, 1958) is an award-winning American author known for his novels, short stories, and memoirs. He is a distinguished five-time winner of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Literary Award. His celebrated works include novels such as IF NOT FOR THIS, AS COOL AS I AM, and HOW ALL THIS STARTED, along with the story collection DRY RAIN and the memoir INDIAN CREEK CHRONICLES. The film adaptation of AS COOL AS I AM, featuring Claire Danes, James Marsden, and Sarah Bolger, was released in 2013.
In addition to his acclaimed books, Fromm has published over two hundred stories in various magazines. He is also a member of the faculty at Oregon’s Pacific University’s Low-Residency MFA Program. Currently, he resides in Montana with his family.
