Pamela Collins Dean Dyer-Bennet, better known as Pamela Dean, is an American fantasy author. She is best known for her novel Tam Lin, which is based on the Child Ballad of the same name. In this work, the Scottish fairy story is set on a midwestern college campus loosely based on her alma mater, Carleton College in Minnesota.

Dean was a member of the writers' club known as "The Scribblies," alongside notable authors such as Emma Bull, Will Shetterly, Kara Dalkey, Nate Bucklin, Patricia Wrede, and Steven Brust.
