Pamela Clare

Pamela Clare is a well-known author who writes historical romance and contemporary romantic suspense books. Her love for history, emphasized by her studies in Archaeology, has been the driving force behind her passion for historical romance. She has traveled extensively and spent almost three years living in Denmark, a place she considers a second home. Her time visiting ruins and castles in Europe greatly influenced her storytelling, allowing her to bring characters to life in various historical settings such as colonial America, 18th-century Ireland, and the Viking age.

Pamela began her writing career as a columnist and investigative reporter and eventually became the first woman editor-in-chief of two different newspapers. Her journalistic work has earned her and her team numerous accolades, including the First Amendment Award and the National Journalism Award for Public Service. In recognition of her contributions, she was honored by the Colorado Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists with the Keeper of the Flame Lifetime Achievement Award.

As a romance novelist, Pamela Clare is a RITA finalist (for Surrender in 2006) and a three-time Daphne du Maurier finalist for her I-Team series. A single mother, she resides in Boulder, Colorado, near the beautiful Rocky Mountains, where she enjoys hiking, bird watching, and spending time with her two sons. Her other interests include drawing, painting, quilting, listening to music, horseback riding, world travel, and reading.
