Nemonte Nequimo is an indigenous leader of the Waorani people in Ecuador. She is known for her environmental activism, particularly her efforts to protect the Amazon rainforest.

Nequimo gained international recognition in 2019 when she led a successful legal action against the Ecuadorian government, which resulted in a landmark ruling that protected half a million acres of Waorani territory in the Amazon rainforest from oil extraction.

As a co-founder of the Ceibo Alliance, a coalition of indigenous organizations, Nemonte has been a prominent voice advocating for indigenous rights and environmental conservation.
