Ahmet Necip Fazıl Kısakürek (May 26, 1904 – May 25, 1983) was a renowned Turkish poet, novelist, playwright, Islamist ideologue, and conspiracy theorist. He is often recognized by his initials, NFK.
Necip Fazıl was notably influenced by the prominent French philosopher Henri Bergson, who became his mentor. His upbringing was marked by a rich family heritage, being born in a grand mansion in Çemberlitaş, near Sultanahmet. His father, Abdülbaki Fazıl Bey, served in various judicial capacities, while his mother was an émigré from Crete.
Necip Fazıl's early education was guided by his grandfather, Kısakürekzade Mehmet Hilmi Efendi of Maraş, who named him after his own father and son. He continued his formal education at the French School in Gedikpaşa, followed by studies at various institutions including Robert College of Istanbul.
