Morgan Matson

Morgan Catherine Matson, also known under her pseudonym Katie Finn, is a New York Times bestselling American novelist. She was born in New York City and grew up in both New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut.

Matson attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, where she initially pursued a theater degree. However, her career path shifted when she began working in the children's department of Vroman's Bookstore, sparking her passion for Young Adult (YA) literature. After graduating with a theater/English degree, Morgan continued her education at the New School, earning an M.F.A in Writing for Children.

Her debut novel, Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, was published in May 2010. The book, inspired by her own cross-country road trips, was recognized as an ALA Top Ten Best Book, a PW "Flying Start" book, and was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Book Prize.

In addition to her writing career, Matson has moved back to California and continues to contribute to the world of literature with her engaging and realistic narratives, primarily in the Young Adult genre.
