Melanie grew up in rural South Alabama and began dreaming of a career as a novelist at a young age, writing stories for her friends from the age of twelve and completing her first full-length romance novel at fourteen. Despite the challenges of getting published, she pursued a degree in special education for the hearing impaired from the University of Alabama. She taught in Georgia’s public schools and spent a year as a missionary in Ukraine before rediscovering her passion for writing.

She now has twenty-eight published novels and lives in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachians near Huntsville, Alabama.
