Matthew Inman, also known as The Oatmeal, is a web designer and developer from Seattle, Washington. He has been designing websites since the age of 13 and is a seasoned programmer, systems administrator, and online marketer. In 2009, he launched TheOatmeal.com, a webcomic and humor website.

The Oatmeal offers original comics, quizzes, and occasional articles. Inman has produced a series of Oatmeal books with content from the webcomic and previously unpublished material, as well as related board games and other merchandise.

The website won the Eisner Award for Best Digital/Webcomic in 2014. In 2019, Inman announced plans to step back from The Oatmeal to concentrate on other work, including the "Exploding Kittens" television series.
