Martin Millar

Martin Millar is a critically acclaimed Scottish writer from Glasgow, now resident in London. He writes under the pseudonym Martin Scott, authoring the Thraxas series of fantasy novels. The inaugural volume of this series won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 2000.


Millar's novels delve into themes of urban decay and British sub-cultures, often blending realistic and supernatural characters. His writing features elements of magical realism, suggesting a thin boundary between real life and the supernatural. Many of his works are set in Brixton, where he once lived, and are semi-autobiographical. Notable works include Love and Peace with Melody Paradise and Suzy, Led Zeppelin and Me, where Millar himself appears as a character.
