Mark Hodder

Mark Hodder is an English author renowned for his six-part series of 'Burton & Swinburne' steampunk novels. His first book in the series, The Strange Affair of Spring-Heeled Jack, won the prestigious 2010 Philip K. Dick Award. Following this, he released The Curious Case of the Clockwork-Man and Expedition to the Mountains of the Moon in 2011 and 2012 respectively, both receiving wide acclaim and the latter being nominated for a Sidewise Award.

Hodder continued the series with The Secret of Abdu El Yezdi, which was also nominated for a Sidewise Award. He expanded his literary repertoire with his standalone novel, A Red Sun Also Rises, set in a version of Victorian London on another planet. In 2015, he embarked on a new series set in the far future, titled The Oxford Equation.

Besides his novels, Hodder is a noted enthusiast of the character Sexton Blake. He served as an advisor for several reprint volumes of Blake stories and authored the first book in the relaunched sixth series of the Sexton Blake Library, The Silent Thunder Caper.
