Lynne Ewing

Lynne Ewing is an American author and screenwriter known for her engaging young adult novels. She has penned 24 young adult books, including the popular series Daughters of the Moon, Sons of the Dark, and Sisters of Isis. Her literature has reached a global audience, having been translated into seven languages.

Her debut novel, Drive-By (1996), was recognized as an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers and was featured as a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age. The novel also earned the 1999 Arizona Young Readers Award. Following her successful debut, her second book, Party Girl (1999), was similarly acknowledged as an ALA Quick Pick and recommended by Teen People. This book was later adapted into the film Living the Life.

The Lure (2014) was another of her acclaimed works, receiving accolades as a top-ten title for youths in custody by the ALA In the Margins 2015. Her writing is lauded for its ability to engage audiences, particularly those reluctant readers and youths at risk for incarceration, as noted in a 2012 study by Guerra.

In addition to her fiction writing, Ewing is affiliated with Sisters in Crime and the Mystery Writers of America. She currently splits her time between Washington, D.C., Montreal, and Lyon, France.
