Lucinda Kate Riley (née Edmonds; 16 February 1965 – 11 June 2021) was a Northern Irish author known for her popular historical fiction. Before her writing career, she was an actress and ballet dancer.
Lucinda Riley was born in Northern Ireland and ventured into acting in film, theatre, and television at a young age. At twenty-four, she authored her first book. Her works have been translated into thirty-seven languages and have sold thirty million copies worldwide. She is recognized as a No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author.
Her famous series, The Seven Sisters, which narrates the story of adopted sisters inspired by the mythology of the star cluster, has become a global phenomenon, achieving No.1 bestseller status globally with over fifteen million copies sold.
Lucinda divided her time between the U.K. and a farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland, where she wrote her books.
