Lucia Graves is an English writer and translator. She was born on 21 July 1943 in Devon, England. Lucia is the daughter of the renowned writer Robert Graves and his second wife, Beryl Pritchard (1915–2003).
After World War II, in 1946, she moved with her parents to Mallorca. Her education included studies in Switzerland, England, and Spain, and she graduated in Modern Languages from St. Anne’s College, Oxford. In 1967, she married a Catalan musician and settled in Spain, mainly living in Barcelona, where they had three daughters.
Lucia has enjoyed a successful career as a literary translator, translating much of the work of her father, Robert Graves, as well as works by other authors like Anaïs Nin and Katherine Mansfield. Beyond translation, she has also written pop-music lyrics and edited works such as The Complete Short Stories of Robert Graves in 1995.
Currently, Lucia resides in London with her second husband.
