Lodewijk Paul Aalbrecht Boon, known as Louis Paul Boon, was a renowned Belgian writer, born on March 15, 1912, in Aalst. Boon was a multifaceted artist, excelling not only in writing novels, poetry, and art criticism, but also as a painter. He passed away on May 10, 1979, in Erembodegem.
Boon is celebrated for his significant contributions to Flemish literature. He is best known for his novels My Little War (1947), the diptych Chapel Road (1953) / Summer in Termuren (1956), Menuet (1955), and Pieter Daens (1971).
