Lisa Gardner

Lisa Gardner is a #1 New York Times bestselling American novelist, known for her thrilling suspense novels. Born in 1972, she has authored more than 20 suspense novels that have been published in over 30 countries. Gardner began her writing career with romantic suspense under the pseudonym Alicia Scott, gaining significant recognition with her breakout domestic thriller, The Perfect Husband, in 1997.


A self-described research junkie, Gardner has transformed her interest in police procedure and criminal minds into a streak of internationally acclaimed novels. Her works have been adapted into TV movies including At the Midnight Hour, The Perfect Husband, The Survivors Club, and Hide. She has also made personal appearances on TruTV's Murder by the Book and CNN.


Gardner's novels have received numerous awards, with The Neighbor winning Best Hardcover Novel from the International Thriller Writers and the Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle in France. She was awarded the Daphne du Maurier Award in 2000 for The Other Daughter and the Silver Bullet Award from the International Thriller Writers in 2017 for her work on behalf of at-risk children and the Humane Society.
