Lene Kaaberbøl is a Danish writer known for her work in children's fantasy series and crime fiction for adults. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on March 24, 1960, she grew up in Jylland and now considers herself an 'exile-Jyde' living in Frederiksberg.
Kaaberbøl has been writing since childhood. Her notable achievements include winning the Nordic Children's Book Prize in 2004 and the Harald Mogensen Prize in 2009 together with her co-author Agnete Friis for the novel The Boy in the Suitcase.
Her Wild Witch (Vildheks) book series (2011–2014) was adapted into a Danish children's fantasy film. Lene continues to captivate readers with her storytelling prowess.
