Lauren Oliver, born Laura Suzanne Schechter on November 8, 1982, is a distinguished American author renowned for her compelling young adult novels, including Panic; the Delirium trilogy: Delirium, Pandemonium, and Requiem; and Before I Fall, which was adapted into a major motion picture in 2017. Panic was also transformed into a series by Amazon Studios, where Oliver served as creator, writer, and showrunner on the project. Her novels have garnered international acclaim, being translated into more than thirty languages.
Oliver's literary prowess was recognized early on as she graduated from the University of Chicago, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She further honed her skills by obtaining a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University. In 2010, Oliver co-founded Paper Lantern Lit, a literary βincubatorβ/development company now known as Glasstown Entertainment, with Razorbill editor and poet Lexa Hillyer.
Her portfolio extends to founding the media and content development company Glasstown Entertainment, where she currently serves as president of production. Oliver is the New York Times bestselling author of the YA novels Replica, Vanishing Girls, Panic, and the Delirium trilogy. The film rights to both Replica and her bestselling first novel, Before I Fall, were acquired by AwesomenessTV; the latter now a major motion picture. The sequel to Replica, titled Ringer, is her most recent novel, released on October 3rd, 2017.
