Laura Buzo is an Australian author who was born and raised in Sydney, the middle of three daughters. From a young age, Laura had a passion for swimming, horse riding, tennis, netball, running, and had an insatiable love for chocolate and reading.

After completing her university education, Laura embarked on a career in social work, where she has worked in various acute and community-based mental health settings in Sydney. In 2005, she took a break from her profession to pursue her creative passion and began writing her debut novel, Good Oil. Despite her success as an author, Laura continues to work as a social worker. She is also a mother to a young daughter and continues to reside in the city where she grew up, Sydney.
