Lara Adrian, born in 1966 in Michigan, United States, is a renowned author of historical and paranormal romance novels. A Michigan native and descendant of Mayflower passenger Governor William Bradford, she resides in coastal New England with her husband, who is the inspiration for all her heroes and her most devoted fan. The couple are caretakers of two rescued felines who have trained them to surrender treats, tuna, and belly rubs on command.
Adrian, whose real name is Tina St. John, quit her full-time corporate job to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. In 1995, she sold her first completed manuscript, Lord of Vengeance, and has since penned several acclaimed medieval romances. She was frightened of vampires as a child but overcame this fear, using that early fascination to drive her paranormal romance novels.
Today, she is well-known for the popular Midnight Breed series, which meshes fear, sensuality, and power into vampire romance fantasy novels. She believes that "vampires as heroes in romantic fiction are the ultimate bad boy." Her books have been published in over sixteen countries and she is a RWA RITA finalist and Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice award recipient.
With nearly 4 million books in print and digital worldwide, her work has been translated into more than 20 countries. Her books have been named among Amazon’s Top Ten Romances of the Year and have been nominated multiple times for the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Romance of the Year. Reviewers have described Lara’s books as “addictively readable” (Chicago Tribune), “extraordinary” (Fresh Fiction), “strikingly original” (Booklist), and “one of the best vampire series on the market” (Romantic Times).
