Kate Elliott is the pen name of American fantasy and science fiction writer Alis A. Rasmussen. Born in 1958, she grew up in rural Oregon, where she made up stories to escape to a world of lurid adventure fiction. She now writes fantasy, steampunk, and science fiction, often with a romantic edge. Currently, she resides in Hawaii, where she enjoys paddling outrigger canoes and spoiling her schnauzer.
