Kat Zhang is an American award-winning author known for her contribution to young adult and middle grade literature. Born on April 1, 1991, she has successfully penned various works, including two picture books: Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao and Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon.

Her first trilogy, The Hybrid Chronicles, was published by HarperCollins in the United States and is notably available in 2,545 libraries worldwide. This series has been translated into multiple languages, including Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Polish, and Italian. The trilogy consists of What's Left of Me (2012), Once We Were (2013), and Echoes of Us (2014).
