Karsten Knight

Karsten Knight's writing career began at the tender age of six when he completed a picture book about a sassy, adventurous worm. In the decades since, he has strived to live up to the high literary bar he set back in first grade by publishing various novels. His works include:

  • The mythological fantasy This Eternity of Masks and Shadows
  • The time-traveling thriller Patchwork
  • The historical mystery Nightingale, Sing
  • The volcano goddess trilogy Wildefire (published by Simon & Schuster)
  • The spooky Bonegarden series for young readers

His books have been described as "exceptional" by San Diego Union-Tribune, "action-packed" by Publishers Weekly, "riveting" by VOYA, "sizzling" by Booklist, and "compelling" by School Library Journal.

Karsten is known for writing books that feature mythologies from around the world. In 2011, Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers published his debut, Wildefire, the first in a trilogy about a reincarnated Polynesian volcano goddess. Since then, he has authored the historical thriller Nightingale, Sing, the time-bending murder mystery Patchwork, the mythological fantasy This Eternity of Masks and Shadows, and now channels his talent for terrifying readers into the Bonegarden.

Karsten studied creative writing at College of the Holy Cross and earned an MFA in writing for children from Simmons College. A lifelong resident of Massachusetts, he lives for fall New England weather—the perfect time of year for spooky stories.
