Kamome Shirahama

Kamome Shirahama, known in her native language as 白浜 鴎, is a distinguished Japanese freelance manga artist and illustrator. Graduating from the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts, Shirahama has become widely recognized for her enchanting series Witch Hat Atelier (Tongari Bōshi no Atelier).

Shirahama's vivid imagination and intricate artistry have led her to collaborate with notable comic franchises. She has crafted variant covers and illustrations for giants such as Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and has contributed to the beloved Star Wars franchise. Her talent in character design was showcased in The Elder, part of the Star Wars: Visions short film series, which premiered in 2021. The following year, she penned the manga adaptation for the same.

Her contributions to the manga and illustration world have garnered her several prestigious accolades, including the Eisner Award, the Harvey Award, the Daruma d'or manga at the Japan Expo Awards, the Mangawa Award, and the Prix Babelio. These awards reflect her profound impact on the industry and affirm her status as a luminary in the field.
