Julie Murphy is a celebrated American author known for her contributions to romantic and young adult literature. She achieved the prestigious title of #1 New York Times bestselling author with her novels Side Effects May Vary, Dumplin', Ramona Blue, and Puddin'. Her debut novel, Side Effects May Vary, was written during the National Novel Writing Month.

Murphy currently resides in North Texas with her husband, who loves her, and her cats, who tolerate her. She transitioned from a successful career in the library world to writing full-time. In addition to her young adult novels, she has ventured into middle grade novels with Dear Sweet Pea and has a new title expected in 2023.
