Juli Zeh is a renowned German writer and judge. Born on June 30, 1974, she has made significant contributions to contemporary literature with her compelling narratives and insightful exploration of socio-political themes. Among her acclaimed works are The Method (2009), Unterleuten (2016), and About People (2021).

Her literary career began with her debut novel Eagles and Angels (Adler und Engel), which was honored with the 2002 Deutscher Bücherpreis for best debut novel. This marked the beginning of her established presence in the literary world.

Juli Zeh pursued her academic interests in law, studying human rights law in Passau and Leipzig. She passed the Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen in 2003, an achievement comparable to the U.S. bar exam. Additionally, she holds a degree from the Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig.

Since 1995, she has resided in Leipzig, where she continues to write and engage in legal practice.
