José António Afonso Rodrigues dos Santos is a renowned Portuguese journalist, novelist, and university lecturer. Born on April 1, 1964, he has made significant contributions to journalism and literature.

Since 1991, he has been one of the presenters of Telejornal, the evening news program on the Portuguese public television channel RTP1. His career as a journalist is complemented by his success as a novelist, having published several thriller and historical fiction novels. He is a best-selling author in Portugal, with notable works such as Codex 632, The Einstein Enigma, The Seventh Seal, and The Wrath of God.

His novels have seen substantial commercial success, with sales exceeding one million books, and his work has been translated into 17 languages. His novel The Wrath of God won the 2009 Porto Literary Club Award, and Codex 632 was longlisted for the 2010 IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
