John Sherrill

John L. Sherrill was a notable Christian writer born in Covington, Tennessee in 1923. Alongside his wife, Elizabeth "Tib" Sherrill, born in 1928, they have authored several best-selling books. Some of their renowned collaborations include:

  • God's Smuggler with Brother Andrew
  • The Hiding Place with Corrie ten Boom
  • The Cross and the Switchblade with David Wilkerson

John Sherrill's career as a writer began between 1944 to 1951 when he worked as a free-lance writer in Europe. It was during a voyage to Europe that John and Elizabeth met and later married in Switzerland in 1947. Elizabeth continued to freelance for various magazines until 1963.

In 1970, the couple founded Chosen Books, a publishing company focused on finding books that were both interesting and helpful.
