John Joseph Grogan is an American journalist and non-fiction writer. He is best known for his memoir, Marley & Me (2005), which was a best-selling book about his family's dog, Marley. The book captured the hearts of readers globally and was later adapted into a major motion picture in 2008.
Grogan has spent over 25 years in the newspaper industry. His career has included roles as a reporter, bureau chief, and columnist at newspapers in Michigan and Florida. He served as the editor-in-chief of Rodale's Organic Gardening magazine. His writing has been recognized with several awards, including the National Press Club's Consumer Journalism Award.
His second book, The Longest Trip Home, has also gained popularity. Grogan resides in Pennsylvania with his wife, Jenny, and their three children.
