Jodi Lynn Anderson is an American children's writer. She grew up in northern New Jersey and pursued higher education at the University of Maryland, where she earned a BA in British Literature. Furthering her academic journey, she received an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College.

Anderson began her career in the literary world as a book editor at HarperCollins in New York City. Transitioning to writing, she has authored several works of fiction for young readers and achieved the status of a New York Times bestselling author. Throughout her life, she has lived in various places including Georgia and Washington DC, but she currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband and son.
