Jim Dwyer

Jim Dwyer was a renowned American journalist and author, celebrated for his Pulitzer Prize-winning work. Born in New York on March 4, 1957, and passing away on October 8, 2020, he left an indelible mark on journalism.

Dwyer was a dedicated reporter and columnist for The New York Times, and he authored or co-authored six non-fiction books. Before joining the Times, he wrote columns for New York Newsday and New York Daily News.

His insightful contributions were recognized when he won the Pulitzer Prize in 1995 for his "compelling and compassionate columns about New York City." Additionally, he was a part of the New York Newsday team that earned the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for spot news reporting on a subway derailment in Manhattan.

Dwyer also appeared in the 2012 documentary Central Park Five and was portrayed on stage in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy (2013).
