Jessica Anthony is an acclaimed American novelist known for her satirical works. She is the author of four books of fiction, most notably The Most (2024) which was longlisted for the National Book Award in Fiction, and Enter the Aardvark (2020), a finalist for the New England Book Award in Fiction. Her debut novel, The Convalescent, appeared in 2009, followed by Chopsticks in 2012.
Jessica has been recognized with the Creative Capital Award in Literature, and her novels have been published in fifteen countries. In addition to her writing career, she has held a series of diverse jobs around the globe, including working as a butcher in Sitka, Alaska, an unlicensed masseuse in Rytro, Poland, and a secretary in San Francisco, California.
In 2017, Jessica participated in an art residency program as a "Bridge Guard," guarding the Mária Valéria Bridge between Štúrovo, Slovakia and Esztergom, Hungary. She currently resides in Maine and imparts her knowledge to students as a professor at Bates College.
