Jenna Black, the pen name of Jennifer Black, is a renowned American author known for her work in paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and young adult fantasy novels. She has been actively writing since 2001 and began using the pen name Jenna Black in 2006. Prior to that, she published under the name Jennifer Barlow and her birth name for short stories.

Jenna Black graduated with a BA in Physical Anthropology and French from Duke University. Originally aspiring to be the next Jane Goodall, her fascination with primate behavior was replaced by a passion for writing after realizing the mundane aspects of primate life.
