Jennifer ("Jen") Lancaster is an American author whose titles have graced the New York Times Best Seller list. Once an associate vice president for a technology company, Lancaster found herself laid off after the events of 9/11. This turning point in her life became the inspiration for her blog and, subsequently, her books.

Raised in Indiana, she now resides in Chicago, Illinois with her husband, Fletch, and their numerous pets. Lancaster is also an alumna of Purdue University. Known for her humor and self-deprecating wit, her books often reflect her own experiences and personality.

Her memoirs include popular titles such as Bitter is the New Black, Bright Lights, Big Ass, Such A Pretty Fat, Pretty in Plaid, My Fair Lazy, and Jeneration X. She has also ventured into fiction with her book, If You Were Here.
