Jayne Ann Krentz

Jayne Ann Krentz, née Jayne Castle, is a renowned American writer of romance novels. She is the author of a string of New York Times bestsellers under seven different pseudonyms, including Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle, and several others. Now, she primarily writes under three names: Jayne Ann Krentz for contemporary romantic-suspense, Amanda Quick for historical romantic-suspense, and her maiden name for futuristic/paranormal romantic-suspense writing.

Krentz has sold over 35 million copies of her novels, creating and expanding the futuristic romance subgenre with works like Sweet Starfire and Amaryllis, which was the first paranormal futuristic romantic suspense novel. She is a vocal advocate for the romance genre and has received the Susan Koppelman Award for Feminist Studies.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Krentz earned a B.A. in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master's degree in Library Science from San Jose State University. She worked as a librarian in both academic and corporate libraries.
