Jacqueline Winspear (born 30 April 1955) is a renowned mystery writer, best known for her Maisie Dobbs series of books that delve into the aftermath of World War I. Winspear has been the recipient of several mystery writing awards for this popular series.
Jacqueline was born and raised in the county of Kent, England. She pursued higher education at the University of London’s Institute of Education. Following her education, Winspear worked in academic publishing, higher education, and marketing communications in the UK.
In 1990, she emigrated to the United States and embarked upon a life-long dream to be a writer while working in business and as a personal/professional coach. She has contributed to journals covering international education and has published articles in women's magazines. Additionally, she has recorded her essays for KQED radio in San Francisco.
Jacqueline currently divides her time between Ojai and the San Francisco Bay Area and regularly visits the United Kingdom and Europe.
