Gabrielle Charbonnet, known by her pen name Cate Tiernan, is an acclaimed American author born on July 24, 1961. She has carved a unique niche for herself in the world of literature with a prolific output that spans across different genres.

Writing as Cate Tiernan, she is best known for her Sweep series, which delves into the Wiccan adventures of high school students. These tales have found a home and audience globally, being sold as the Wicca series in the UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Australia, and as White Magic (Magie Blanche) in Italy and France. The series' compelling narrative and rich exploration of Wiccan traditions have enthralled readers, cementing Tiernan's reputation as a master storyteller.

Under her real name, Gabrielle Charbonnet, she has also made significant contributions to children's literature, notably through her works in the Princess, American Gold Gymnasts, and Disney Girls series.
