Before embracing Christianity in 1986, Rivers penned historical romance novels. She has gained acclaim for her inspirational novel Redeeming Love, a hallmark of Christian fiction that continues to be a top-selling title years after its release. Another notable work, The Last Sin Eater, was adapted into a film in 2007 by Fox Faith.
