Franchesca Ramsey

Franchesca Leigh Ramsey, also known as Chescaleigh, is an American comedian, activist, television and YouTube personality, and actress. Born on November 29, 1983, Ramsey has appeared on MTV and MSNBC. She quickly gained media fame after her YouTube commentary on racial issues went viral. Ramsey has built a career as a writer, producer, and performer based on her unintended activism, often taking on the role of an advisor or coach on social issues.

As an only child, she grew up in West Palm Beach and became familiar with computers at an early age. In the 1990s, during high school, she already had her own website. Ramsey attended a performing arts high school and studied graphic design at university after initially pursuing acting, which she found emotionally painful and even "abusive." In 2009, she moved to New York with her future husband when he received a scholarship to study law at St. John's University.
