Erin Hunter is a collective pseudonym used by a group of authors including Victoria Holmes, Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, Clarissa Hutton, Inbali Iserles, Tui T. Sutherland, and Rosie Best. They are known for writing several children's fantasy novel series that focus on animals and their adventures. Notable works include the Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, Bravelands, and Bamboo Kingdom book series.
For each book, Holmes creates the plot while the others take turns writing the books. Although Dan Jolley is not an official Erin Hunter author, he writes the stories for manga published under the Hunter name. Illustrators such as James L. Barry, Bettina M. Kurkoski, and Don Hudson are associated with the pseudonym for the Warriors mangas. Natalie Riess and Sara Goetter have also contributed as illustrators for the graphic novel adaptation of The Prophecies Begin.
Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. The group enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by an interest in astronomy and standing stones.
