She has contributed to the field in myriad roles, including as an editor for renowned publishing houses such as Penguin and Egmont in London. Her expertise also extends to freelance work as a manuscript consultant and writer for pre-school books.
In Melbourne, Emily's influence continued as she collaborated with the late literary agent Sheila Drummond to discover new talents in children's and YA literature. She has lent her critical eye to Bookseller and Publisher as a reviewer and enriched the literary community during her tenure as a children's buyer at the independent bookshop Readings.
