Edmund Morris was a renowned biographer, best known for his works on United States presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. He was born on May 27, 1940, and passed away in 2019.

Morris received his early education in Kenya and later attended Rhodes University in South Africa. His career began in advertising as a copywriter in London, and he emigrated to the United States in 1968.

His acclaimed biography, The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, earned him the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award in 1980. Morris spent 14 years as President Reagan's authorized biographer.
