Emily Jenkins, who sometimes uses the pen name E. Lockhart, is an acclaimed American writer known for her work across children's picture books, young-adult novels, and adult fiction.

Her most notable works include the Ruby Oliver quartet, starting with The Boyfriend List, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, and We Were Liars. Additionally, We Were Liars is being adapted into a TV show on Prime Video, set to premiere in June 2025.

Among her other works are Again Again, Genuine Fraud, and Family of Liars. She also penned the graphic novel Whistle: A New Gotham City Hero. Her upcoming book, We Fell Apart, the third installment in the We Were Liars universe, is set to publish in November 2025.
