Dhonielle Clayton

Dhonielle Clayton is a New York Times bestselling author known for her engaging and diverse storytelling. She is renowned for her works in The Marvellers series, The Belles series, and Shattered Midnight. She has also co-authored popular books like Blackout, Whiteout, The Rumor Game, and the Tiny Pretty Things duology, the latter of which became a Netflix original series.

Clayton grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., on the Maryland side. She has an extensive background in education, having taught secondary school for several years and serving as an elementary and middle school librarian. Currently, she is the Chief Operating Officer of the non-profit organization We Need Diverse Books, dedicated to promoting diversity in literature.

In addition to her role in non-profit work, Dhonielle is the President and founder of Cake Creative and Electric Postcard Entertainment, companies focused on creating diverse books for all ages. An avid traveler, she is constantly in search of magic and mischief in her journeys.
