Dayna Lorentz is a writer of children's, young adult, and adult literature. She has a passion for writing that she has pursued throughout her life, despite initially considering it an unsafe career choice.

Dayna has an extensive educational background, holding a B.A., J.D., and M.F.A. from Bennington College. She even humorously considers adding "lawyer" back into her professional title as she juggles her life roles as a Vermont-based writer, mom, lawyer, squid enthusiast, and eater of cupcakes.

Her journey into full-time writing began after leaving a career in law, supported by her spouse. She embraced the idea that one cannot succeed without trying, which led her to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Literature.

Dayna is also known for her love of dogs, singing opera, a cappella, jazz, and show tunes, and her drawing skills, as evident from her school notebooks filled with notes and doodles.

She humorously notes her lack of success in fishing, joking about catching everything from clams to moray eels, and anticipates a future career as a "Squidhunter."

Her work is celebrated and enjoyed by a wide range of readers, and she continues to contribute to literature with her unique voice and creative perspective.
