David Lasky is an alternative cartoonist based in Seattle, Washington. He is best known for co-authoring the graphic novel "Carter Family: Donโt Forget This Song", which garnered the prestigious Eisner Award in 2013. In addition to his work in comics, David has been writing poetry for over two decades, often integrating his art to create unique "poetry comics."
David has also contributed to the children's literature world by coloring the acclaimed graphic novel "El Deafo" by Cece Bell, which was honored as a Newbery Honor Book. In his teaching career, he has been a graphic novel instructor for 15 years, educating individuals of all ages and skill levels. Currently, he is involved in teaching Haiku Comics online.
David Lasky actively teaches at various venues around Seattle, including Richard Hugo House and Coyote Central. His artistic works, including selected original art and archival prints, are available through his etsy shop.
